The heart of the park and one of the best wildlife viewing areas during dry season.
Excellent for elephants, birdlife and open scenery.
Remote and quieter with fewer vehicles and beautiful wilderness landscapes.
Tarangire is often treated as a quick stop on rushed itineraries, but spending additional time here allows travelers to experience the park beyond the busiest areas and hottest hours of the day.
Early mornings and evenings are especially rewarding for elephant activity and photography.
Best for concentrated wildlife activity around the river.
Beautiful green landscapes, dramatic skies and a quieter safari atmosphere with excellent birdlife.

Arusha National Park is not known for large predator sightings, but for its landscapes, peaceful atmosphere and unique safari activities.
The park feels green, quiet and incredibly varied. Within a single day, landscapes change from tropical forest to open savannah, volcanic craters and shallow alkaline lakes filled with birdlife.
The atmosphere is calm and less intense than the larger safari parks, making it perfect for travelers who enjoy scenery, walking and photography.
Beautiful alkaline lakes attracting flamingos and waterbirds with stunning views toward Mount Meru.
Often called “Little Ngorongoro,” this forested volcanic crater is home to buffalo, warthogs and monkeys.
Dense rainforest area famous for black-and-white colobus monkeys and lush vegetation.
Arusha National Park works especially well as:
a gentle introduction to safari
a first or last day experience in Tanzania
or a relaxed nature-focused stop before heading deeper into the Northern Circuit.
Travelers staying longer can combine game drives with walking safaris, canoeing and hikes around Mount Meru.
Dry weather with clear views and pleasant temperatures.
Lush green scenery, dramatic clouds and excellent birdlife make this season especially beautiful for photography and nature experiences.

The crater floor supports an incredible concentration of wildlife within a relatively compact area, making game viewing highly rewarding throughout the day.
Ngorongoro combines dramatic scenery with constantly changing ecosystems. Dense forests along the crater rim open into grasslands, swamps, soda lakes and open plains on the crater floor below.
Early mornings inside the crater often feel quiet, misty and atmospheric before vehicle activity increases later in the day.
The heart of the safari experience with exceptional wildlife viewing and open grassland landscapes.
Known for elephants, shaded forest scenery and occasional leopard sightings.
Excellent for hippos, birdlife and large concentrations of grazing animals.
A shallow soda lake attracting flamingos and other bird species.
Ngorongoro is often combined with Tarangire and the Serengeti as part of the Northern Circuit.
An overnight stay near the crater allows for earlier access in the morning, when wildlife activity and atmosphere are often at their best.
Additional time in the area also allows travelers to combine the crater experience with cultural visits, walking activities or slower travel through the highlands.
Ngorongoro offers excellent wildlife viewing throughout the year due to its permanent water sources and resident wildlife populations.
Beautiful green highlands, dramatic clouds and fewer vehicles create a quieter and highly scenic atmosphere.
Cool temperatures, clear views and consistently strong wildlife viewing conditions.
